Four time All-Ireland Winners
Kilmeen Drama Group
Kilmeen Drama Group are based in Rossmore, Co. Cork. They compete annually in the Three Act and One Act Amateur Festival Circuits. Kilmeen have appeared in the All-Ireland Three Act Open Finals, held in Athlone, on 20 occasions, winning the coveted All Ireland title four times since 2006.
In 2006 Kilmeen won with Tom Murphy’s ‘A Crucial Week in the Life of a Grocer’s Assistant’. 2011 saw our next win with another of Tom Murphy’s plays ‘A Whistle in the Dark’. In 2012 Kilmeen completed a 2-in-a-row win with Conor McPherson’s ‘The Weir’. In 2013, Kilmeen completed a historic 3-in-a-row All Ireland title win with J.M. Synge’s ‘The Playboy of the Western World’.Â
Kilmeen have also won the All Ireland One Act Open title in 2011 with Enda Walsh’s ‘Disco Pigs’.
